'Brahmaarpanam, the prayer to chant before every meal. Taught by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 4 Verse 24. Here are the lyrics to the prayer: Brahmaarpanam Brahma Havir Brahmaagnau Brahmanaahutam Brahmaiva Tena Gantavyam Brahma Karma Samaadhinaha Here is the Translation/Meaning: Lord Sri Krishna impresses upon Arjuna that the whole life is a yagna. Yagna means worship or selfless dedicated service. Even the act of eating is a yagna. Eating is not merely for enjoying food, but mainly to sustain the body to fulfill our responsibilities cheerfully. Om tat sat Hari om. We sincerely thank Swami Dheerananda and all gurus at Chinmaya Mission Washington DC (CMWRC) for teaching us this wonderful and powerful mantra.'
